~Tons of stuff for families to do and usually cheaper than other resorts.  Call ahead.  Snow at Ski Bowl is often wetter than other Hood locales (lower elevation). I find Ski Bowl to draw a lot of teens. Not bad, just a little social tidbit.  I have never seen the toddler tubing hill, or kids sized snowmobiles. But sounds FUN!  - Kym, Mom of 3

Comments:
~A beautiful day on Mount Hood brings lots of people outdoors, so perhaps this was just a busy day.  Children must be 42 inches to ride the tubes at Cooper Spur, so my two year old was left with the grandparents.  Unless you are 10 years of age or older, there is one hill for tubing.  Only one rider allowed on a tube at a time, so pretty much every single ride down the hill was the same.  If you are looking to spend more than just a couple hours of tubing, I would not recommend Cooper Spur.

~Our family loves to sled at White River! It is wide open and unstructured. The only
costs are gas to get there, a $5 parking pass and equipment (they don't supply
sleds). If you can stand the short hike to get to the slopes, you have your choice
of shallow to steep hills. We often invite other families to join us. It is fun for
all ages...adults and children alike!

Comments:
This is a great little snow park.  There are two decent size, small kid friendly snow hills for sledding - and we have always only come across kind people here.  Along with the sledding, there is plenty of playroom and two great areas for stuffing small ones into your backpack carrier and heading off for a cross-country ski or snowshoe outing.  The main, most popular route leads you around Trillium Lake, where, under good conditions you have beautiful views of Mt. Hood.         Emmacafe, Portland mom of 22 month old

Comments:
Since becoming a mama to young kids, I am no longer a regular skier.  But, my opinion is that Mt. Bachelor beats any Hood resort for skiing in the NW.  The weather and snow are usually more cooperative on Mt. Bachelor.  It is a drive, but the snow conditions, amenities, and quality of runs almost make it worth it.  The dog sled runs are spendy, but a fun and unusual experience. Note: Doggies pass lots of gas while pulling sleds. If your kids like poop humor as much as mine, they'll enjoy this little "extra." - Kym, Mom of 3

People love to go there to fish and swim in the summer - ski in winter. We found the accomodations at the lodge/resort very dirty, dumpy (and I'm not super picky!), yet expensive! The electricity went out and a generator kept us awake all night.  No phones in the rooms.  I'd look for a house or just camp next time.

Comments:
Mt. HooDoo is super family friendly and way cheaper than Mt.
Bachelor.  ($19 for an all day ticket on Tightwad Tuesday) Though a
smaller mountain, they have plenty of terrain, including black
diamonds for Dad to venture on.  The mountain was no where near
crowded the 3 times we have been there, and the lift operators took
time to teach new skiers how to get on and off.  Everyone, from the
employees to the other skiers, were relaxed, friendly and helpful.
They even have a great sledding hill that was free!  (The website
said it was $5, but the employees said it was free).  One note, you
may not want to start little ones at the top of the sledding hill, as
they are likely to fly over the tall snow bank at the bottom and have
quite an unexpected ride. The older sledders found this desirable, of
course.
